Learn to Play the Piano the Fun Way!

Learning to play a piano is not an easy thing to do, especially when you have to learn to read from sheet music before you can play the piano. Studying music theories or even just learning to read from sheet music is time consuming and painfully dull for adults. Imagine how much more difficult it is for little kids.

And if ever you decide to take up formal piano classes or hire a personal instructor to teach you how you to play your piano, you'd be surprised with how expensive it can be, and you may discover sometime during the course how futile these methods can be.

The good news is that due to the advancement in today's technology, there are now many options on how you can learn to play the piano. There are now many resources available for learning. Piano tutorial materials are now available on CDs which you can play on your television and study at home. There are also online materials, such as how-to articles, descriptive images, and instructional DVDs. All these are valuable tools in learning to play the piano.

One great tool that I have found is the Piano Wizard, a computer program especially designed for you to learn to play your piano in a fun and interactive way. Although the Piano Wizard is geared to teaching children rather than adults, the enjoyment that comes with this program software is not limited to any specific age. Piano Wizard aims to make learning to play the piano pleasant for everyone. Instead of the traditional teaching sessions, they came up with a fun and stimulating video game.

Piano Wizard is based on a 4-Step Method. In the first step or at the beginning of the game, there are vertically moving graphical items in a colorful background that you have to strike at the right time through the pushing the corresponding keys on the keyboard that comes with the Piano Wizard method; the moving things symbolize the musical notes.

The second part of the lesson rotates the screen making the target object move horizontally. This stage prepares you in learning to identify notes in a staff, it also teaches you which finger you should use when pushing the keys and hitting the note, encouraging you to practice the correct hand placement and usage while playing the piano.

The 3rd part replaces the graphical game objects with actual but colored notes in a large staff, and the fourth part of the lesson transforms the screen to the traditional black and white notation.

Piano Wizard is indeed a fascinating approach to learning to play the piano; it's fun, exciting and interactive, enjoyable for kids and adults alike.
